About Claire

Claire originally qualified as an Integrative Creative Arts Counsellor for children and young people, then later completed Transactional Analysis (TA) psychotherapy training. Claire was drawn to train in TA as a modality, due to its founding philosophies which aligned with her own. She says that TA being conceived to be accessible, to empower, respect and provide options for people, alongside its strong research-evidenced efficacy, makes it an approach she is passionate about.

Claire lives close to the beach and outside of work, can mostly be found enjoying beach life!

Background

Prior to therapy training, Claire worked in education and community settings with children and families who experienced difficulties, particularly around adverse experiences, neurodivergence or disability needs. This has remained an area of focus and interest.

Teaching

Claire is an experienced counselling tutor having trained counsellors to work with adults as well as children and young people. Being dyslexic, she knows first-hand how learning can be challenging at times, and is committed to inclusive styles of teaching and learning.

Counselling Experience

Claire is a BACP-registered counsellor working with adults, children and adolescents. She has worked as a therapist in schools, university, a community counselling service, private practice and is also a qualified supervisor. She is committed to LGBTQ and neuro affirming practice.
